Code of Conduct
Help us create a respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where music, camaraderie, and responsible fun come together in harmony.
1. Alcohol Consumption
Alcohol is available for purchase at our rehearsal venues—please support our hosts responsibly.
Drink in moderation. If your singing starts to sound like a karaoke solo at 1 a.m., it's probably time for water.
Anyone appearing visibly intoxicated may be asked to take a break or arrange safe transportation home.
No pressure: drinking is entirely optional—everyone should feel welcome, regardless of their choice.
Please dispose of cups, cans, and bottles properly and respect the venue’s space and staff.
2. Musical Expectations
Come prepared: review your parts and bring your music (printed or digital).
Listen to the conductor and respect their direction—we’re here to sound good and have fun.
Rehearsals are a judgment-free zone, but effort and attention are expected during singing time.
Talking or distractions during rehearsal should be minimal—save social time for breaks or after rehearsal.
3. Social Conduct
Be friendly, welcoming, and respect personal boundaries.
Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
If someone says they’re uncomfortable, listen and respect their wishes.
Jokes and stories are welcome—just keep it kind and inclusive.
4. Attendance & Commitment
We’re a casual, social choir—there’s no formal attendance policy, and you don’t need to notify us if you’ll miss a rehearsal.
That said, regular participation helps us all sound better and builds stronger musical chemistry.
If you’re planning to perform in a concert or event, please make an effort to attend the final rehearsals.
5. Transportation & Safety
Don’t drink and drive. Ever. Period. Use a rideshare app, ask a friend, or arrange a carpool ahead of time.
If someone needs help getting home, offer assistance or notify a leader.
6. Events & Performances
Show up on time, dressed as requested, and ready to sing.
Alcohol may be permitted at social events, but conduct expectations still apply.
Represent the choir with pride and positivity in public settings.
7. Agreement
By participating in Choir League, all singers agree to:
Abide by this Code of Conduct,
Foster a safe and welcoming space,
Prioritize music, friendship, and fun—responsibly.
