Come lift your voice (and your pint glass) with friends from across the DMV who love singing just as much as you! No audition necessary — just bring your love for singing in harmony, and we'll celebrate the power of choral music together.

DCCL’s first full cycle is titled, “Wide Open Spaces,” a nod to purple mountain majesties and American spaces that have connected people, cultures, and generations. In a city that directly impacts the American conversation, we’ll raise our voices with some oh-so-singable music from Dolly Parton, Aaron Copland, Simon & Garfunkel, Rollo Dilworth, Stephen Paulus, and more. We’ll celebrate the people, music, and traditions that make up the complex and evolving American story, and we’ll share music that reflects the “wide open spaces” that have inspired Indigenous Americans, pioneers, artists, citizens, and change-makers. 

What:

• 6 joyful, accessible rehearsals at Right Proper Brewing Co. 

• Tools for learning the music, including rehearsal tracks

• A judgement-free zone: no audition is required, and one absence is OK. Learn more about the attendance/refund policy here.

• The chance to prepare a concert program of 6–8 choral works (including “The Road Home,” “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” and more) and present it in a social manner to your circle of friends, family, and more on Tuesday, March 18. Stay tuned for more concert details!

When: 

• 6 rehearsals on Tuesdays from February 4 – March 11, 2025

• 6–7pm optional happy hour (Come eat dinner before rehearsal begins!)

• 7–9pm rehearsal

• 1 concert on Tuesday, March 18

• 6:30pm call time

• 7:30pm concert + happier hour for singers, friends, family, and supporters!

Where: Right Proper Brewing Co., Shaw Brewpub & Kitchen (624 T Street NW, WDC 20001)

Who: Under the direction of KellyAnn Nelson, DC Choir League is for everyone: current choristers, former choristers, and shower choristers! Rehearsal tracks are provided, all skill levels will be represented and supported, and no audition is required. Join in the fun as the DC Choir League launches its first full cycle in the district!

How: Registration will open on January 27. Registration fees for this cycle are $150. There are options to ask for financial support (or provide extra support for those who need it). Choir League is committed to removing barriers to singing together!
